The one question you must ask your builder

There are many questions to ask your builder prior to signing on the dotted line. However there is one major question which needs clarification.
Considering, the average house has more than…

• 8,000 bricks
• 1,000 metres of electrical cabling… and..
• 12,000 nails

And each building activity is carried out by a different tradesman. The builder has to coordinate the…

• Bricklayer
• Roofer
• Plumber
• Electrician
• Kitchen and Bathroom manufacturer
• Tiler
• Plasterer
• Plumber
• Concreter
• And more

Throw into the mix uncertainty due to weather… and you can understand…

Building A House Is Complicated

There are so many areas where things can go wrong – run over time and over budget.

So, when your builder says: “No problem” or “Too easy” or “She’ll be right!”…and when he seems to just pull facts and figures out of his head…

ask this question…

Can I See Your Plan Please?

Not the house plan. The activity plan your builder will use to make sure everything gets done in an organised way.
If your builder doesn’t have a plan, chances are “she will not be alright!”

Remember what Confucius said: “A man who does not plan long ahead will find trouble at his door.”
Benjamin Franklin put it this way: “He who fails to plan, plans to fail.”

Don’t take the risk of trusting what your builder says off the top of his head. Ask to see his plan.
The bottom line is building a home is a complex process.
Your builder needs a plan.
And you need to make the right choices along the way.

Without the right guidance, it can become overwhelming.
